Laura was the designated driver and I was the navigator (a team that had never failed before). I was picked up at 7 (bang on time I might add) and we set off for Sheffield. Took us about an hour to get there, only got a bit confuddled in the city centre but we found somewhere to park (by sheer luck in the end) outside a pub (the plug.com) where a nice bouncer said he would watch the car (woo hoo free parking).
We walked the 10 mins to Leadmill and we went in. We found the bar and then went for a scoot around, then found some seats. Sat chatting (through the support) then decided to go to the loo before Lily came on. What a mistake that was. I have never seen anything so vile in my life… there were puddles of what I can only assume were piss on the floor, gross!
We moved into main floor area for about 9.30 and then we were treated to over an hour of musical enjoyment from Lily and her band! It was soooo hot in that room what an error wearing the skinny jeans was, my arse was sweating and I was roasting. Sweating aside it was really really good! She sang great, singing “nan you’re a window shopper” and a couple of others that weren’t on her album which I though was brill. The best by far for me was when she did a cover of the Kooks “naive” and “Alfie” right at the end was fantastic.
We left and got back to the car about 11, where a nice man from the pub pointed us into the direction of a Maccy D’s. set off about 11.30 from there and went home on the motorway for easiness, and didn’t take that long. Got in and couldn’t sleep cause I was that hyped up – so had a cuppa and read for a while. What a great evening.
We are Scientists next week, and im really looking forward to that!!!
Oh and Lily's Sax player was HOT!! yum yum (nicer than bouncer boy lol)
Pics (shit)
